However, as of several weeks ago my responsibilities were completely reshuffled (again, in a good way)\u00a0and I&#8217;m finally back at my office every day doing the small-business owner thing full time. Especially considering the fact that\u00a0this is a long term change, it should\u00a0have a major impact on both the\u00a0speed and regularity\u00a0of\u00a0NEStalgia development.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to announcing today&#8217;s minor NEStalgia update, I also want to quickly go over where everything stands with development:<\/p>\n<h5>v1.72.3 Update<\/h5>\n<p>Today&#8217;s v1.72.3 release (<a href=\"http:\/\/nestalgiawiki.com\/index.php?title=Version_Notes#v1.72.3\">notes<\/a>) tackles some long-standing bugs that I&#8217;ve been meaning to fix for awhile now, including that annoying issue with non-functioning battle hotkeys on private servers.\u00a0Though \u00a0my development efforts\u00a0will remain\u00a0focused on <a href=\"http:\/\/silkgames.com\/blog\/category\/key-of-the-exiles\/\">Key of the Exiles<\/a> content, I&#8217;ll try to make\u00a0a point of pushing out\u00a0small updates more frequently as\u00a0I make minor\u00a0fixes\/improvements that benefit\u00a0the existing game.<\/p>\n<h5>NEStalgia Webclient (Mac\/Linux compatibility, etc)<\/h5>\n<p>It&#8217;s been awhile since I initially <a href=\"http:\/\/silkgames.com\/blog\/2015\/06\/nestalgia-on-macs-linux-chrome-yup\/\">announced plans\u00a0to open up access to NEStalgia on a\u00a0ton of new platforms via BYOND&#8217;s HTML 5 webclient<\/a>. The problem is that the performance\u00a0of the webclient and its compatibility with NEStalgia has been incredibly inconsistent. The hangup\u00a0has typically been that whenever a new version of the webclient fixes all of the outstanding NEStalgia-specific compatibility issues, it simultaneously introduces a host of new bugs or performance problems. That&#8217;s not a knock against the BYOND devs; it&#8217;s just the nature of the beast.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been awhile since I last checked in on the webclient, and I plan to do another round of testing with the latest version soon.
